Many people see one-stage snow throwers as junk, and yes it’s true that they have their limitations in heavy or wet snow. But if you get out there right when the snow falls and clear it before it hits ten inches, you’ll have a fine time with this little wonder.

    What people love about it?

    • Quick and Easy Assembly – it will only take about 10 minutes to get it ready to go.
    • Easy to Reach Chute Crank – its chute crank is easier to reach, so you don’t have to bend over to reach it.

The Snow Joe works great on fresh snow not thicker than 10-11 inches and other that it easy to maneuver. It also has a 180 degrees adjustable discharge chute and can throw up snow up to 20 feet. It is also good on removing snowfall on large driveways and walkways.

What people don’t like about it?

    • Hassle dealing with the extension cord – sometimes the cord just gets on the way, so you have to watch which way you go so you are not always flipping the cord.

Compared to Toro Power Curve, Snow Joe Ultra gets lesser snow and is a bit louder. It is only good on fresh dry snow, and because of its light weight and smaller size it did struggle a bit when depth reached 14 inches.

    Conclusion:

For the price though at $182, and on how easily it starts up, and the fact that you never need to buy gas or oil for it, it is a real bargain. Just be aware of its shortcomings and don’t expect it to be able to compete with a good gas snow thrower that cost several times more money.

Electric Snow Blowers like Snow Joe Ultra is highly recommended to homeowners who don’t face a huge amount of snow in the winter and don’t have more than a hundred feet between their outlet and the street.
